Even, Matthew Levitt, a strong critic of Hamas who wants it destroyed admits in his book on Hamas using Israeli estimates that Hamas has a budget of only $70 to 90 million, and 80 to 85% of this money is spent on social welfare programs.'

Reuven Paz (November 14, 1950 – February 22, 2015) was an Israeli expert on Islam and Islamist movements in the Arab and Muslim world, the Arab minority in Israel, and Islamic Fundamentalism.[1] He was Senior Research Fellow at the Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) Center, Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya. He had also been head of research at the Israeli General Security Service. Previously, he lectured at the University of Haifa and served as Academic Director at the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism.[2]
Paz was born in Haifa and received his Ph.D. from the University of Haifa in Middle Eastern History. He published several dozen academic articles and authored four books on Islamist movements. In addition, he provided expert testimony in court cases in the United States on several occasions.

Reuven Paz was born and grew up in Haifa, Israel. He graduated his academic education from Haifa University, in the fields of Arabic language and literature and Middle Eastern Studies, specializing on Islam and modern Islamic thought. Reuven Paz is fluent in written and spoken Arabic, and in Hebrew and English.
Since the early 1970s most of his studies, research, and fields of experience, focused on Islam, Islamic culture, Islamic radicalism, development of radical Islamic doctrines, all over the Arab and Muslim world, and Palestinian society and politics in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. His research combines thorough academic work with a long field experience in the Israeli security service.
In 1998, he was a visiting fellow in the Dayan Center in Tel-AvivUniversity and twice in 2000 and 2001, in The Washington Institute for Near East Policy in Washington, D.C. Between 1989-1998 he lectured in the department of Middle Eastern Studies at Haifa University, on radical Islamic movements and Palestinian society. In 1997-2000 he was the academic director of the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) in the InterdisciplinaryCenter in Herzliya, Israel.
In 2003, he founded the Project for the Research of Islamist Movements (PRISM –www.e-prism.org) in the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, Israel, which he directs. The project deals with developments of radical Islamic and Islamist movements in the social, cultural, ideological, and political fields; Finance of radical Islamist groups; Sponsoring of Islamic states to Islamist radicalism and terrorism; Islamic communities in the West; The “Culture of Global Jihad” and its attitude toward the Western civilization, Israel, and the Jews; Islamist networks; and support for radical Islam through the virtual global Jihad in the Internet. The focus of its research is on primary sources in Arabic, and the project wishes to fill some vacuum in the use of Arabic sources for the research of Islamist phenomenon. In 2006, PRISM has opened a special research project for radical Islam in Africa, and in 2007 a research project on Islamist social affairs, and radical Islam in Central and Latin America.
In 2013 he joined the newly founded research think-tank for the research of Islam and Muslims in Africa, founded and directed by Dr. Moshe Terdman. He will serve as the responsible for research on social Islamic issues in Africa.
Reuven Paz has published so far dozens of articles in the fields of Palestinian society and politics, and global radical and militant Islam. He gave 19 expert testimonies in the U.S., Canada, and European courts, in cases that involved terrorism. In the recent years he is working on a book about the “mindset of Global Jihadis”.

I also find it amusing that Noam Chomsky is considered not qualified to speak because his PhD is in linguistics but Alan Dershowitz, a trial attorney, is even though Chomsky is just brimming with relevant facts and Dershowitz is so clearly a manipulator. They are not too educated these commenters.  Also, they also never respond to educated responses because they have no response and possibly they are instructed not to respond so as not to help promote educated thought on the topic.

He was the one who made up the story of those Gedolim signing a paper was the Medinah is the aschalta degeulah, and he was the one who doctored the story of the meeting of the Moetzes Chachmei HaTorah in 1937 where he left out the poiastion of people like Rav Ahron Kotler. He wrote a book called HaTekufah heGedolah which is absolutely full of misquotes, fabrications and distortions. His deception has already been exposed and well known to those who have researched this topic. R. Zvi Weinman documented extensively the forgeries of R. Kasher - and he even challenged him in public to respond to his findings when R. Kasher was alive - in his excellent work "Mikatowitz ad 5 B'Iyar." Of course, R.     The Real Charedim

    It seems sometimes in the Mistake of Israel that anybody who isn't anti-religious, which essentially is most of the country, is Charedi, ie. claims to be. Oh I'm Charedi. Oh he's Charedi. That's what one hears from people as they march along with their smart phones, flags, and blue jeans. And I won't even give you a picture of how their wives and daughters dress and conduct themselves. They are all Charedi. I suspect that they make this claim because they see that irr-Religious Zionism is so empty. Oh, they still buy into all the myths about the Mistake and the army but they see intuitively that there's nothing else there. They want to latch onto the rich life of real Charedim, and the easy way to do that is with a simple declaration. And what about most of the country being anti-religious, well that's not necessarily how they'd describe themselves. After all, some have religious brothers and sisters and grandmothers.
