The offensiveness isn't the problem as much as all the insults are just a waste of time. I want to trade facts and arguments and it's hard to find someone to do that with on this topic. I am not intellectually dishonest. That's for sure, but I certainly need to be more informed. So inform me. That's fine. I also am not anti-semitic or a self-hating Jew, or a liberal or any of the other silly insults that people throw around to end discussion. What's intellectually dishonest is the assumption that Jews are always wonderful and Arabs are always bad. That presumption needs to be suspended at least for a few minutes if anyone is to break out of the rigid destructive thinking on this matter. The economic embargo started after Gaza elected Hamas, and before any violence by Hamas. The violence followed the embargo. That's important. Now why did Gazans electe Hamas? Polls showed that they perceived Hamas as the less corrupt party. The West thinks of Hamas purely as a te

WHAT JIHAD IS

http://islamicsupremecouncil.org/understanding-islam/legal-rulings/5-jihad-a-misunderstood-concept-from-islam.html?start=9 WHAT JIHAD IS The Arabic word "jihad" is often translated as "holy war," but in a purely linguistic sense, the word " jihad" means struggling or striving. The arabic word for war is: "al-harb". In a religious sense, as described by the Quran and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (s), "jihad" has many meanings. It can refer to internal as well as external efforts to be a good Muslims or believer, as well as working to inform people about the faith of Islam. If military jihad is required to protect the faith against others, it can be performed using anything from legal, diplomatic and economic to political means. If there is no peaceful alternative, Islam also allows the use of force, but there are strict rules of engagement. Innocents - such as women, children, or invalids - must never be harmed, and any peaceful ove

Islam_and_antisemitism Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_antisemitism 19th century According to  Mark Cohen , Arab antisemitism in the modern world arose relatively recently, in the 19th century, against the backdrop of conflicting Jewish and Arab nationalism, and was imported into the Arab world primarily by nationalistically minded Christian Arabs (and only subsequently was it "Islamised"). [108] The  Damascus affair  occurred in 1840, when an Italian monk and his servant disappeared in  Damascus . Immediately following, a charge of  ritual murder  was brought against a large number of Jews in the city. All were found guilty. The consuls of England, France and  Austria  as well as Ottoman authorities, Christians, Muslims and Jews all played a great role in this affair. [109]  Following the Damascus affair,  Pogroms  spread through the Middle East and North Africa. Pogroms occurred in: Aleppo (1850, 1875), Damascus (1840, 1848, 1890), Beirut (1862, 1874), Dayr al-Qamar (1847), Jerusalem (184

DNA study

We Jews love to talk about how every empire crumbled but we are still here. But if I did a DNA study in Greece, wouldn't it show that the people there descend from people who lived in the Greek empire? Same with Rome, Persia. So what's different about us?Greece has a country. Israel has a country. About the same. What's the difference.

The Quran on Jews in its historical setting - Source Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_antisemitism The Quran makes forty-three specific references to " Bani Isrā ʾ īl " (meaning the  Children of Israel ). [11]  The Arabic term  yahud , denoting Jews, and "yahudi" occur eleven times and the verbal form  hāda  (meaning "to be a Jew/Jewish") occurs ten times. [12] [ full citation needed ]  According to Khalid Durán, the negative passages use  Yahūd , while the positive references speak mainly of the  Banī Isrā’īl . [13]  Jews are not mentioned at all in verses dating from the  Meccan period . [14]  According to  Bernard Lewis , the coverage given to Jews is relatively insignificant. [15] The references in the Quran to Jews are interpreted in different ways. According to Frederick M. Schweitzer and Marvin Perry, these references are "mostly negative" [8] According to Tahir Abbas the general references to Jews are favorable, with only those addressed to particular groups of Jews containing harsh

Youtube Comment I Received

"My mom is very anxious about my military enlistment, she literally inspected every health condition I might have in order to prevent me from being a fighter, and yeah..it worked out. "She had her reasons, she told me the superiors are very mean and harsh, also gave me examples about orders that commanders gave out which have caused lots of casualties to the IDF." All That Remains

All That Remains: The Palestinian Villages Occupied and Depopulated by Israel in 1948 Paperback – April 13, 2006 by Professor Walid Khalidi, of Oxford and Harvard Universities (Editor). This authoritative reference work describes in detail the more than 400 Palestinian villages that were destroyed or depopulated by Israel in 1948. Little of these once-thriving communities remains: not only have they been erased from the Palestinian landscape, their very names have been removed from contemporary Israeli maps. But to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians living in their diaspora, these villages were home, and continue to be poignantly powerful symbols of their personal and national identity. The culmination of nearly six years of research by more than thirty participants, this authoritative reference work describes in detail the more than 400 Palestinian villages that were destroyed or depopulated during the 1948 war. Going beyond the scope of previously published accounts, All That Rema

Netanyahu’s world view

"Netanyahu’s world view is his father Benzion Netanyahu’s world view, which more or less maintains that reality is an arena of Darwinian wrestling among powers, in which the strong survives and the weak disappears. Values, emotions, manners and customs have no real importance. If you’re powerful, everyone will want to be close to you, even if they don’t like you. If you’re powerless, they’ll stick a knife in your back, even if they like you. The only key to survival is power, power and power." Ari Shavit

the Land is ours only on condition

"...we need not be ashamed before the scoffers, but rather we must proclaim openly that our national territory is the Torah, and that the Land is ours only on condition that it is tied to our spiritual inheritance. In this regard, we differ from every other nation, and whoever does not acknowledge this denies the basic principle of Judaism.” R' Yechiel Yaakov Weinberg, Shu”t Seridei Eish, vol. 1, No. 163 (pp. 512–513).
