I can testify that I have observed Zionism in the yeshivah world and been perplexed by it. On one hand, most yeshivish people will talk about not yielding "one iota" - famous phrase - to secular notions but then they seem to espouse Zionism, perhaps without realizing it.
I'm not talking about the black hat wearers at Yeshiva University/RIETS. I'm talking about the regular yeshiva world.
