The Three Oaths

R. Zera was evading Rab Judah because he desired to go up to the Land of Israel while Rab Judah had expressed [the following view:] Whoever goes up from Babylon to the Land of Israel transgresses a positive commandment, for it is said in Scripture, (Kesubos 110b)

Zera? — That  implies that Israel shall not go up [all together as if surrounded] by a wall.  And Rab Judah? — Another 'I adjure you'  is written in Scripture. And R. Zera? — That text is required for [an exposition] like that of R. Jose son of R. Hanina who said: 'What was the purpose of those three adjurations?  — One, that Israel shall not go up [all together as if surrounded] by a wall;  the second, that whereby the Holy One, blessed be He, adjured Israel that they shall not rebel against the nations of the world; and the third is that whereby the Holy One, blessed be He, adjured the idolaters that they shall not oppress Israel too much'. And Rab Judah? — It is written in Scripture, That ye awaken not, nor stir up.  And R. Zera? — That text is required for [an exposition] like that of R. Levi who stated: 'What was the purpose of those six adjurations?  — Three for the purposes just mentioned and the others, that [the prophets] shall not make known the end,  that [the people] shall not delay  the end,  and that they shall not reveal the secret  to the idolaters'.

By the gazelles, and by the hinds of the field.  R. Eleazar explained: The Holy One, blessed be He, said to Israel, 'If you will keep the adjuration, well and good; but if not, I will permit your flesh [to be a prey] like [that of] the gazelles and the hinds of the field'.  (Kesubos 111a)

EC - So where see here where the Satmar Rebbe gets the idea that zionism produced the Holocaust. He wasn't pulling this idea out of the air due to hostility to zionism. The posuk says, if you don't honor the oaths your flesh will be permitted to the predators like the meat of a gazelle. That's the Holocaust and zionism had been in full motion for a half century prior to that.

He was the one who made up the story of those Gedolim signing a paper was the Medinah is the aschalta degeulah, and he was the one who doctored the story of the meeting of the Moetzes Chachmei HaTorah in 1937 where he left out the poiastion of people like Rav Ahron Kotler. He wrote a book called HaTekufah heGedolah which is absolutely full of misquotes, fabrications and distortions. His deception has already been exposed and well known to those who have researched this topic. R. Zvi Weinman documented extensively the forgeries of R. Kasher - and he even challenged him in public to respond to his findings when R. Kasher was alive - in his excellent work "Mikatowitz ad 5 B'Iyar." Of course, R. The Real Charedim

It seems sometimes in the Mistake of Israel that anybody who isn't anti-religious, which essentially is most of the country, is Charedi, ie. claims to be. Oh I'm Charedi. Oh he's Charedi. That's what one hears from people as they march along with their smart phones, flags, and blue jeans. And I won't even give you a picture of how their wives and daughters dress and conduct themselves. They are all Charedi. I suspect that they make this claim because they see that irr-Religious Zionism is so empty. Oh, they still buy into all the myths about the Mistake and the army but they see intuitively that there's nothing else there. They want to latch onto the rich life of real Charedim, and the easy way to do that is with a simple declaration.
